High Hills Tourism alongside the government, health experts and other industry associations are working together to achieve effective protocols by developing meaningful action plans that optimize sector-wise recovery efforts. Our protocols include in interaction and implementation guidelines to ensure, as much as possible, that people are and feel safe. Ultimately, we envision a travel experience that is safe, secure and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to the traveler.
We have achieved operational readiness by having:
• Implemented a COVID 19 Plan including an action/checklist for infection prevention and a special cleaning and disinfection plan during the start & end of each tour, as well as a process to monitor changing regulations and contingency plans in place.
• Implemented health screenings for staff and guests.
• Implemented protocols to minimize physical contact. Implemented physical distancing protocols using a risk-based approach, especially for queues, and, where possible, marked to clearly communicate to participants and staff
• Undertook risk assessment of each adventure activity to determine the measures required, such as physical distancing, the wearing of face-coverings, body temperature checks etc.
• Made personal protection equipment (PPE) available to staff, such as masks, gloves and sanitizer, as long as required as per risk based approach by local legislation.
• Integrated technologies to enable automation such as contactless touch points and payment where possible. If contactless payment is not possible, consider using other options such as prepayment, gloves and hand sanitization.
• Established with suppliers and partners including restaurants, hotels, equipment suppliers, and transport partners that they follow likeminded health and hygiene protocols and guidelines to protect guests as required by local legislation.
• Introduced a COVID-19 emergency plan in collaboration with suppliers and partners should new cases emerge during a trip or after an activity, in line with local and national protocols.
• Explored different options for operations, where possible, such as advance booking vouchers, timed entries and smaller groups.
